Shades of me

I am a part my mother
A part I am my daughter.
One finds joy in losing
The other has to be the victor.

there is just so much out there about mothers and daughters. and so little about fathers and children. i think coz women express themselves more freely while men want to 'achieve'. to what end god only knows.

True, however the father daughter relationship has strong emotional overtones. While she carries the mother within herself, there is a never ending quest to find a father figure in every man she hands over her life to.

And then, I have a boring logical take to this. Historically the role between a father and a child has been transactional mostly attributed to the role of the father as a provider. In the formative years which is also the age every person holds closest to his/her heart the mother is the omnipresent figure of wisdom and love. But with the changing role of man this partial affection towards mothers will also change.
