One Life

If nature had intended us to have multiple lives, she would have given us the ability to be in multiple places at the same time, not just physically but also equipped the brain to be able to process and execute in multiple places at the same time. Till science and technology can equip people to do that, we have to believe that we were designed to live just one life. However we fight with nature to live multiple lifes. Ours presents and their parents before that lived one life but we have been told that we can have in all. Having it all means multiple lives…you cant have it all. The other type lives multiple lives by living different lives in stages…now I live in a city, work in an office…so tomorrow we can live in the village and become a farmer. Our caste system and rigid policies of the society also want everyone to have one life…if you are a cobbler be a cobbler for life…you kids will aslo be an extension of that one life…your generation till a 1000 years will have one life…the definition of one life here is the lifestyle and what you create and consume….

Nomads had one life but a life that could have some streaks to other life also. Hence we love to travel. It gives you a glimpse into an alternative lifestyle. Hence I pity traveller who travel to see monuments. Travel to see culture. Monuments are history of culture. Consume them as that. Food, music, art, occupations. There is sense in the term when in rome do the roman. Don’t look for you thepla, dosa, bhajja and chicken tikka when you travel. Even 3 days and four nights doesn’t make sense because you will see but not experience the life there on 3 days and 4 nights. You gotta live atleast a month, work there, speak their language.

You have one life..travel. not because time is short but because you have one life try to live a multiple life.

Please accept my sincere condolences

I suggest we stand for two minutes in silence
For the way we treat our women, children, animals and nature
For Mc Donalds, Loreal, and Wonder Bra
For electric brushes, escalators and self parking cars
For pre schools, email on phone and 2 and half BHK flats
For home loans, stock market, insurance and credit cards
For guns, bomb and brain washed soldiers
For wars in the name of oil, land and religion
I suggest we stand for two minutes in silence
To mourn the dearly departed sanity of humankind

Sway

Weave the web
All the way
It breaks, you fall
But you gotta stay
One life, one purpose
No reason to stray
Today had come
Now gone away
And tomorrow is
Another day
For you to again
hum, love and sway

Until Then

I keep admiring the sea
Write poetry flattering the fragrance in flowers
I give myself away to a sunset
And smile frenziedly when I see lovers

Squeeze my friends with the tightest hugs
Laugh out loud to the silliest joke
Run around in circles with my dog
And when it rains, my feathers evoke

Blow kisses to babies on the road
Romance life, the world and its grand aunt too
Look at the glass half full always
When all I want, oh so really want, is to love you

Let there be

and God said, "Let there be earth.
Let there be Adam and his lover.
Let there be soil, trees with
green leaves as their cover.

I have not read any holy texts
but I'm pretty sure that God didn't ask,
"Can there be a group discussion on how the world should be?
Ahem! just to ease my task."

I dont know if God is a being,
a super power or an act of nature.
All I believe is that God is a force of nagging will
with only its gut to refer.

Happiness is just where you left it!

Possibly, the secret is in the past, lost in our pursuit to go ahead. Well, the future is what we want it to be. If we think that in the future people will live on trees, future will become that and if we imagine that in future we will live on pluto, that too shall happen. We think that we don’t know the secret today and what we knew was definitely wasn’t it; we hope that we will find it in the future. No not hope, we strongly ‘believe’ that we will find it in the future or else why would we so purposefully look forward to future? But just incase the secret had showed itself somewhere in our past and we, in our quest to focus on the future, looked away. Now wouldn’t that be a pity! Mankind’s endeavor has always been to do something different, more than what has happened in the past. The past is always discounted as ‘not enough’. Even when we are very very happy, we feel that there is more happiness somewhere waiting for us in the future. So while you look forward for more happiness in the future, I suggest we, once in a while, trace back and look for it there too.
